Sorcerer-Demon War Roleplay (Curse you shireen for the twist!)

09:29 Feb 06 2006
Times Read: 560

L'eau chuckled inwardly, foolish child, the child would be great if she were on the demons side. This was one of the reasons that she had come within the shadows, to hear little conversations. She followed the girl to the armory and watched her, knowing what she would look like on the battlefield would be valuable, for she could be caught by the demons. This information will please the leader, she thought to her-self as she slipped back some. She remained within the shadows and jumped upon the windows ledge. Opening her wings she took off. Her wings would only support her for a little while, but they would get her far enough away. The watch wouldn't see her, as she was invisible to anyone she didn't want to see her.

Arin dodged through the fray every so often stabbing one fighter or another with her sai She fought on and on being careful not to get close enough to her father to be recognized. Every so often she'd slip up and nearly get stabbed, but then would rely on a magic spell to save her-self and in that order, she continued fight.

Once L'eau reported back to the demon leader, she joined the ranks of the demons, watching for the girl, as had been the leaders orders. She was to spell her if she saw her and then capture her. Then she was to bring her to the demon leader. He is always so predictable, she thought to herself as she slashed away at the oncoming ranks with her scimitar. The scimitar was covered by the time she finally saw her true L'eau would shift aside as the punch just missed her. Seeing the thought process of the girl, she would say 'ALICA EFFREGO', stopping the spell from reaching her. The spell dissipated with a crackling noise. This one is a strong one, she thought to herself. Any other spell would have just gone away like it had never been cast, but the one that had just been stopped 'fought' her spell and crackled.

She looked at her angry at having her spells blocked. She spun around kicking L'eau in the gut as she did she incased her leg in ice, that'd disappear after impact, to make the hit harder.

L'eau would try to dodge Arin's tackle, but instead, Arin knocked her backwards, she would kneel, catching herself as she fell. She would quickly try to scramble up from the kneeling position. She wasn’t as adept in avoiding attacks, as she was the spells thrown at her.

Arin guessed this and instead of casting another spell she went on to kick her but instead pulled a false move and disappeared reappearing behind her clasping her hands together and bringing them crashing down over L'eau's neck.

Ah, but in this Arin had made a mistake. L'eau could see her even though she would be invisible to everyone else. L'eau would wait for Arin's arms to start in their downward stroke, then in a flash, would be holding Arin's hands, looking at her with a smile.

Arin's eyes opened in shock and then she tried to pull away

L'eau's grip would remain firm. "So, I have you now, daughter of the sorcerers leader." She would pull the girl further within the demons ranks.

She struggled as hard as she could to get free she tried spell after spell in hopes of getting away from L'eau but each spell just made her more and more tired as she used more and more energy to get free from her. At a last attempt she sent a plea to Jake to help her.

L'eau would continue to pull Arin through the ranks of demons unhindered. They would reach the back of the ranks soon. When and if they did, the guards would not hinder them and step out of the way. The path through the ranks was a rather crooked one, with all the demons trying to push their way forward to get a whack at the sorcerers.

Jake caught a glimpse of Arin and the women struggling with her. He took off running trying to get to her.

The demons ranks would close in around Jake, he was one of the sorcerers, and his path would remain hindered. Many of the demon soldiers would try to capture him to gain status in the army.

He struggled to get through them relying on magic to block them seeing as his fighting skills rather.... lacked.

The magic using demons would move in around Jake, each casting a different variation of the halting spell. L'eau would continue to tug at Arin’s arm.

He continued blocking them trying to get closer to Arin. Arin struggled harder trying to get to Jake

L'eau's hand would begin to sweat. When Arin's arm started to slip around in her hand, she reached over and switched hands, not letting go with the first hand until the other hand had a strong hold on her.

She struggled to get free then suddenly got an idea instead of resisting she followed L'eau's motion and using her momentum flipped over her kicking her in the gut. Jake ran on towards L'eau he was starting to get really tried from all the magic he used and he could barely see straight

The spell from earlier still was in effect. L'eau didn't flinch, but Arin's foot probably smarted, as it had hit L'eau's Steel plated skin. She was getting a bit frustrated with the girl. When they started to approach, one of the guards would move into the leaders tent and tell him 'sunt appositus caput.' The leader would lift his head from the maps and stand, approaching the entrance of the tent.

"ARIN!" yelled Jake as he used the last bit of his energy to try and reach them. Arin winced her now hurting ankle making her limp every time she tried to pull away.

L’eau created a barrier of sound between the two, all that Arin would have heard was the A sound in her name before the block was put up. This barrier also prevented thoughts from passing through it. L’eau didn’t know yet what the demon leader would do to the girl when they reached him. Now a few steps outside of his tent, Kyo would smirk.

Jake tried to reach her in time but a wave of weariness crossed him and unable to even keep his eyes open he fell to the ground unconscious just before blacking out though he started to try and cast a spell to get home. Arin tried harder to get free but was getting more and more tired and her moves were starting to become less strong.

One of the demon warriors lifted Jake from the ground and moved toward the leaders tent. L'eau felt Arin's tugs getting a bit weaker, and lessened her pace a bit.

Jake opened his eyes slightly and having run out of any silent magic he had he whispered the words to get home but before he'd even finished he ran out of magic and went completely limp in the mans arms. Arin was relieve at the slackened pace but didn't show it. She was getting desperate so she tried again to cast a spell to get away

Feeling another spell being cast, L'eau finally got tired of it and used a trick she had learned long ago, one that not many living knew. The spell would temporarily stop the blocked from being able to use magic. They were now a few steps away from the lead demon. L'eau knew that if the lead demon tried to harm the girl, she would not allow it, as the girl would be valuable as a strong sorceress.

She grimaced feeling her magic blocked. She tried to remember magic spells but each time she tried they seemed to slip from her mind. She swore and then was going to try and kick L'eau but remembering the effect from it last time she didn't.

L'eau knew that the demon leader would not pick up her thoughts, so she sent out a thought to Arin *Be not afraid, I will not let him harm you, as he did to me many years ago. * In fact, many years ago, she had been a sorceress like Arin, and been captured by the demons. L'eau would not let them turn Arin like they had her. "L'eau has brought you her, /leader/." She spoke the word leader in an almost disgusted tone.

Arin looked up at the leader she was still struggling but by now had given up mostly.

Kyo looked upon the 'little' sorceress and laughed. She was so puny compared to him. Why had L'eau had so much trouble bringing her to me he wondered? "You are late L'eau." He said in a stern voice. L'eau would flinch at his voice. "The enemies forces are strong leader, I had ... difficulties ... getting through." She would try and explain, he still didn't understand. He would never understand how hard it was for her to go against her people, well at least those that were her people before she had been turned.

Arin looked at him. "That's right! My dads strong and he'll kick your butt!"

"Ah, a feisty one she is" He would say. L'eau would look to Arin with a meaningful glance. "All the better, We will destroy your fathers army one by one, demons will inhabit this planet, those who surrender will be given the gift. " Some gift, L'eau thought to herself.

"What gift?" she asked before she could stop herself. "The gift of being a slave to a freak like you?"

Kyo would raise his hand as if to hit the girl, but L'eau would reach up with her free hand and grab his "Leave her be Kyo, or would you rather have a broken one?" L'eau was doing her best to protect the girl. If the war hadn't broke out, her plan to escape would have been put into effect, and Arin would be safe at home, and maybe L’eau could have lived with the sorcerers, well after she told what happened and if they accepted her, but that could not happen now.

Arin looked at L'eau frowning, "Why do you protect me? Why kidnap me and block my magic then deliver me to your leader only to protect me and make all this have been for nothing?"

L'eau sent a thought to Arin *because, had I not obeyed his orders, I would have been put to death, dying in the hands of the enemy as one of them is worse than dying fighting them.* Kyo glared at L'eau. "You are not the leader here, you are not even a full demon! Why do you tell me what to do?" There would be no answer to the question, because it would be useless to answer.

Arin sighed then looked up at Kyo, "SO..." she said looking him in the eyes, "What are you going to do with me?"

Kyo kept the scowl on his face and replied, "You will find out in time, foolish sorceress."

"And in the mean time?" she asked.

"You will remain captive until arrangements are made." *Actually, no you won't... I will see to that... somehow*

She sighed shaking her head then laughed, "Fool...And what makes you think that arrangements will be made? You plan to try and negotiate my fathers surrender in turn for me?"

"Ah, but they will be made, as your brother is also held here." *your brother is also blocked, i feel the bonds... I will release them soon, when I am not under watchful eyes, when you are with him, plan a way of escape through magic... I can block the other sorcerer demons. *

"You think just because you have both me and my brother that our father will care?" she laughed, "you fool...We're not even fully his kids. It was by our mothers affair we were born he only keeps us so as not to make a fool of himself and ruin his reputation." she shook her head, "You'll get no where with having us captured... He'll leave us for dead or alive. Whatever happens to us he'll not care."

"That does not matter, he will try to get you back nonetheless, guards, take her to the pole." "Kyo, if it is no trouble to you, I could take her there." "NO, you already took too long in getting them here." L'eau glanced over to Arin *Cant blame me for trying...*

Arin smirked, "You're wrong Kyo." she said as the guards pulled her along. "All the trouble you're going to with me ... It's all for not! You're wasting your time!'

Kyo laughed at the statement and looked back to the documents placed over the floor. He never excused L'eau, but she took it as a sign that he was finished with her for now. It was now close to nightfall, torches were being lit around camp, as were the fires. She was supposed to be on watch tonight, but she would not show up on this night, tonight she would betray those who were never really her people. Her knowledge of their plans would come in handy in the near future.

Arin didn't try to pull away as the guard led her on. Instead she drew within herself blocking out her wonderings of where she was being taken and instead focusing on trying to get a hold f Jake and talk to him. She tried but there was no response. She shook her head muttering something incoherent in annoyance by the fell of it he wasn't awake at all.

L'eau stepped out of Kyo's tent and went to her poorly cared for tent, It was all that he gave her other than the necessities to live. She picked up what little she had, and made herself invisible.

As the guards brought Arin to the pole and pushed her down, tying her bonds behind her, arms placed in an uncomfortable position entwined within her brothers, they started to laugh. These were the sorcerer’s children? HA!

Arin glared at them in fury, "Don't mock..." she said then smirked, "You never know what will happen when you mock a sorceress...I'd just say...make sure to watch you beds...and friends you never know what type of...snake...might wind up around them."

L'eau chuckled as she approached, her shadow would give her away to sorcerers, but those that did not have magic, did not see her or hear her at all. It was a wonder that Arin had not heard her in the first place in the castle. Releasing the magical bonds upon both Arin and Jake, she wondered whether they had thought out a plan yet.

Arin smirked feeling the magic seep back into her. She glanced at Jake who by now was fully awake. "So then demons he said leaning agaisnt the pole. "What do you say? Still wish to mock?" she raised an eyebrow her eyes daring them to laugh and give her a chance to have fun.

The guards suspected a little, but didn't heed what little sense that they had. Laughing they reached to slap the girl. "Even in bonds she is a little witch isn't she?"

Right before they reached her she whispered, " Slang" and a small snake appeared coiling around the demons wrist.

“AHH!” Pulling at the snake frantically, he hollered a stream of curses directed at the girl. He did not know that the snake was practically harmless. L'eau would stare at their bonds, as if commanding them to unwind. Little by little, they slipped into a place where they could slide out easily, and the guards could be bound as they had the two.

She hid her smirk as she felt the binds loosen, "Hmm ... As I warned, Never mess with a sorceress."

L'eau stopped the guards vocal cords and thoughts, just in case they could send thoughts, then came out of being invisible.

She stood up letting the bonds slip from her and Jake. IN a small move she'd thrown the two of them against the pole and had them tightened. She grabbed the ones chin and said, "Never mess with magic." then smirking she turned to Jake to see if he was ok.

Jake probably didn't know that L'eau was friend, and not foe, at least not yet. She bent down next to the guards and stared into their eyes. *You will not remember this, you will remember being ordered bound by Kyo. * None would believe them, because that is not the truth.

Arin smirked "Jake this is L'eau we owe her... a lot." Jake nodded, "erm thanks ... now then can we PLEASE leave?"

L'eau would chuckle and freeze everyone around her except them, making them deaf and blind to what was happening, unlike before. "Yes, we can leave now."

"Good..." he said nodding. Arin laughed rolling her eyes. "yeah yeah C'mon let's go."

L'eau would lead them through the camp easily. Now the only problem would be getting through the sorcerers ranks as she was...

"Here.." Arin said taking both Jake and L'eau by the shoulder. Rhe whispered a word and they disappeared reappearing in Jake and Arin's room. "L'eau." she said. "I'll vouch for you...I'll tell father that you're one of us...and have been…" she paused trying to think of something. "That you've been working as his spy!"

"Thank you, I had planned on reporting the demons plans… if I was able to get this far..."

Arin smiled "Hey it’s the least I could do for all you helped me with.

L'eau smiled. Looking around the room she wondered at its size. Ah, but this was the sorcerers daughter, she would have a bigger room.

Arin sighed as Jake said, "So now what? We jsut go u[ to father and say hello father sorry to say but we snuck out without your premission oh and btw we brought back a spy turned good?" he shook his head "yeah right.." Arin rolled her eyes,

"He has a point there... But I never really was against the sorcerers... I am a sorceress, just not... completely human anymore."

Arin nodde,d "I know he has a point but he doesn't need to be such a brat... and besides I can come up with something or other.."

"He could think that w...they did something to you to make you make him try and accept me as I am. "

She sighed, "yeah maybe... Or...we wouldn't need to even say we were caught we could say like we nmet you trying to escape orsomething?"

"But can he detect lies? Many of us... the sorcerers that is... can detect lies."

Em.. Don't know if he an or not.."

"Well, 50/50 chance of it, sounds pretty good to me... What was the chance that I would be the one who caught you, but also released you?"

"Don't know... but if he doesn't believe me we can jsut tell him the truth and maybe he'll go easy on you cause you saved our lives?"

"I don't know, I didn't know him before I was captured, so I don't really know the sorcerers opinion of them, just the demons. I think my knowledge of them will help a bit."

She nodded, "Yes definatly...Well father should be returning from war soon...we should probably go down to meet him."

Chuckling "I wonder what his reaction will be by the looks of me... I look demon, but human also."

She shrugged, "Em... not sure...Hopefulyl he'll give us a chance to explain before attacking." Jake looked doubtful at that.

"We willk now when he sees us."

"guess so.."s he said heading for the door

Following the two out of the room, she would remain behind them as they moved through the hallways.

Arin walked in an even deliberate pace as her mind raced to come up with something to say to her father. jake shook his head very doubtful that the plan would work at all.

L'eau continued to follow the two, aware that Jake was doubtful, and Arin was deep in thought.

Finally they made there way into a huge room. a man stood in the middle surounded by others as they healed his wounds. He was dressed in armer and he looked like any king would. Arin stopped and bowed infront of him. "hello father." Both she and Jake said in unison. there father ignored them as he stood anger flowing through him as he rested his eyes on L'eau.

Kneeling before the sorcerer L'eau would remain silent. She would let his kids explain unless she was asked something.

“father..." Arin said, "This is L'eau..She's a fellow sorceress...She saved both Jake and my life." there father looked at Arin then at L'eau. "Is this so?" he asked softly in a thoughtful manor as he reflected on that, "Then tell me..Why do you look and act like a demon?"

She had hoped that he wouldn't ask her questions so soon, but that couldn't be helped now. "Theycaptured me many years ago... before that I was, and still am a master sorceress... but they gave me what they called 'the gift'..." She trailed off after that.

He looked at her silently, "And why should I trust you?"

"I have been trying to escape for years now, I had a way of escaping, then the war... Kyo kept me close to him, I have seen their plans.":

"Kyo?" he asked raising an eyebrow

Realizing that she had out of habit mentioned his name instead of naming him by his position she quickly said "The leader of the demons... he demanded that I call him Kyo."

"I see..." he said slowly.. and if I werent to believe any of this what would you say?" he asked. Arin looked at him anrily and said." Vater bitte würde I wirklich hinsichtlich holen Haus jemand so dumm sein, das uns? schädigen würde! Sie SPEICHERTE beide unserer Leben ohne ihr Jake und ich würde im Dämonkupplungen Durchmachen sein, wer weiß, was!" her father looked at her siletnly then nodded, "So then L'eau what is it you want here?" (Father please would I really be so stupid as to bring home someone who would harm us?! She SAVED both of our lives without her Jake and I would be in the demons clutches undergoing who knows what!)

Understanding a little of what Arin had said, mostly the last part, she said. "Had I not done what I did, he planned on doing to them as he did to me..." Hints of tears appeared in her eyes, but none fell. "I just want to be with my true people, fighting to keep the demons from doing this to everyone who is captured or surrenders." Pausing, she would continue with "Or joins their forces..."

He looked from Arin to L'eau. "How old are you?"

Frowning she tried to think back to how old she was when she was turned. It had been a long time. "Because I was cursed, I have lived for a long time... I don't know exactly..."

"I see.." he said softly then nodded, "Alright.." he turned to look at Arin and Jake who'd remained quiet for the moment, "Tochter lassen uns, die ich mit ihrem allein sprechen werde. und ich verbiete Sie und Ihr Bruder, zum diesem Schloß... wünsche ich zu lassen Sie nicht verfangen werden" Arin nodded, "Yes of course." she and Jake bowed then left the room. (Daughter Leave us I'm going to talk to her alone.. and I forbid you and your brother to leave this castle...I do not want you to be caught)

She wondered whether he would find out that the two had been captured already, and saved. Arin would probably leave the castle as she had before, but maybe not, considering what happened before. Jake still was in the room, he had been doubtful the whole time, and she wondered what impact that would have.

JAke looked at him father, "Are you sure?" he asked, He nodded, "Yes or course...Jake erinnern sich Sie, an was ich Ihnen erklärte? Brunnen müssen Sie ihn durchführen... sicherstellen, daß sie nicht Ihr sight..Now läßt uns außerdem läßt." Jake hesitated then nodded, "As you wish father...But Remember what I told you earlier." his father scoffed and then waved him out of the room. He turned back to L'eau "Now then I believe I owe you my thanks for saving my childern.." (Jake you remember what I told you? Well you must complete it...Make sure she does not leave your sight..Now leave us as well.)

"No real thanks necessary... I just did as a fellow sorcerer would have done." She still didn't know his name, but she supposed that would not be necessary yet.

"even so..." he said, "Had it not been for you I would've been forced to find new heirs...And for that I guess you deserve to know my name.. It's Ka'ven."

Arin shook her head "IF he thinks I'm just going to stay locked in my room he's got another thing coming to him> " jake raised an eyebrow, "You shouldn't get so worked dup sis it's not good for you." Arin looked at him angrily, "yeah well if Nate were here he'd..." she trailed off her eyes going wide. "Oh NO I forgot all about nate!!" she ran towards the window. "hey wait!" Jake said, "father told us to stay!" "I HAVE TO MEET NATE!" she said then jumped from the window.

"I guess so... but they don't look alot like you." In truth, she knew that they werent his heirs due to his daughters free thoughts. "But that has nothing to do with me."

He sighed, "SO you've noticed hmm?" he smirked, "Jake is my nephew...He agreed to watch Arin for me and make sure she doesn't get into to much trouble..see...I took her from the women who refused to marry me..Right before the women was killed I've raised Arin but she's quite a handful So I have Jake keep ehr in check ever now and then."

"Is that so..." She didn't know whether this was a lie, or whether the two actually thought themselves brother and sister.

He nodded, "yes it's true." he sneered, "Funny thing Arin's never realized that Jake isn't her true brother you see I rpide myself on one thing and it's this that I have...Die Energie, ein im ignorence zu halten ist Energie selbst or...The power to hold one in ignorence is power itself. and I have that power... so as long as I hold it there's no way that I can be fought against."

"So had I left them to their fate, you would have just left them for dead, and found new heirs?"

He nodded, "Yes I would've..after all Fate is life.." he smirked, "And besides there's always someone or other that can be tricked inbto becoming the kigns heir..."

"Of course... And Kyo's foolish plan would not have worked anyhow. At least that one."

He nodded, "Yes of course not...Now then I guess we must figure out what to do with you eh?"

"What you do with me is your choice, I do not expect much since I am not completely human anymore, treated like an animal by even those who turned me as I am now."

"Hmm..." he said as he circled around her, "Do you know much about the demons attack patterns and fighting styles?"

"I have learned much in the many years that they kept me. Their sorcerers are all like me, except in loyalties. Normal demons don't have sorcerers, they are only captured and turned. And none of them are as strong as I, as they did not remain loyal to their sorcerous origins, and lost some of their magical strength. Yes, I suppose I do know alot about their attack patterns and fighting styles."

He looked at her silently then said, "Then how about you work with my commander..Tell him what he needs to train my men for..."

"As you wish," she said with a nod. "Is there anything else?"

He shook his head, "For the moment....No."

L'eau would stay there for a moment, she knew her way around from when she lived in the castle, it hadn't changed much. She would nod to him, then back away a bit, and turn toward the captains quarters.

Arin sighed annoyed as she ran towards the cities outter bar. She promised to meet Nate there but had totally fogotten, "How could I have been so stupid." she mentally chidded herself and then put on an extra burst of speed. She shook her head and then entered the bar looking around. she grinned as she saw him sitting near the back. "Nate!" she said waving to him she ran over to him and slid into the seat next to him, I'm SO sorry I'm late but things happened with father and I had to be tehre..that and I got in the middle of the fight.. but that doesn't matter." she smiled at him

"Thats quite alright my love, as long as you weren't out messing around with someone." He knew what had gone on, except for how she could have gotten away. "What was this business with your father?"

She smiled "now now you know I can't tell you that..But let's jsut say he now has someone important on his side."

"Some one important?" Was this how she had gotten away? Someone from their side had freed the two of them? Why would any on their side do something like that?

She smiled and nodded, "Yeah a girl...but anyways.." she looked at him, "How have you been..It seems like forever

"I have been busy with..."Pausing to think of something to say that wouldn't give him away "studying some documents." He wasn't sure that was the right thing to say, but since he had already said it, he couldn't take it back.

"Documents..." she said raising an eyebrow then she shrugged, "that must be boring..."

“Yes, very boring for those that are required to study, now if it was by my choice… but that doesn’t matter. “ A girl eh, he went through his memories to try and pinpoint who it might be, Sasara… no, Jenna, no couldn’t be her, L’eau… it couldn’t be her either… who could have betrayed Kyo and the demons? “Would you like a drink m’love?” Maybe if he got her chatty enough with drink he could find who it was.

She paused then nodded, "You know what...I'd love a drink." she smiled

Ordering her a drink, he would wait for her to finish, then would order her another drink.

She finished drinking it and then smiled at him, "thanks for the drinl." she said in a rather slurred voice, "it's been hell..father is just so horrible at times.." she sighed.

"And what did father do this time?" As he said this L'eau would walk into the bar. She spotted him with Arin and would scowl. Trying to get her attention without getting Nates attention would be hard.

She sighed, "oh his normal...Treated me like a kid..Told Jake more then me." she sighed, "I mean he didn't even believe me when I told him that she was on our side.." she let out an annoyed breath. "he treats me like a baby!"

"Sorry bout that hun, who is she?" L'eau would now be about to freeze everyone but him if she could not get Arins attention. She did not want her identity known to the demons.

"Her names..." she trailed off catching herself but barely. "Now now Naty..I told you I can't tell you.." she took another drink, "besides it would be unfair to her after everything she's done for me."

*Drat!* Waiting for her to finish this second drink was tiresome.

She finally drained the glass and set it down on the table blushing a bit as she swayed slightly.

L'eau was beginning to get worried. Arins attention was completely on Nate, and she didn't see L'eau at all. Nate ordered Arin another drink, he was getting really close now. "What do you think your father told Jake that he didn't tell you?"

She shrugged, "No clue.." she said in an uneven voice, "Probably the same as he normally does." she took a sip of her new drink, "probably says to watch out for me..make sure I don't fall into the wrng hands...stupid stuff like that." she sighed, "Well wanna go on a walk? I really don't want anymore to drnk.." by now she'd nearly completely drained the third glass and felt really full just on it

Ok, now she was completely frantic, if Nate accepted that offer, he would turn and see her. Arin would likely give out more information than she should. She would have to go along beside her somehow... Invisibility! Nate could not see her that way. "Sure m'love, I'll go on a walk with you. And we'll have a nice long talk." Oh no, talking is bad, dissapearing she would move towards Arin and poke her arm, trying to get her attention. If she didn't notice, she would have to follow them anyhow. She should have sent out a thought to Arin, but was too frantic now.

Arin felt the poke but didn't think about it. Se intertwined her arm with Nates and leaned her head against his shoulder as they walked. "I missed seeing you.." she said

L'eau about slapped Arin, but didn't. Ah, now was his chance, he could lead her to Kyo again, and maybe even get that valuable information from her. Leau pinched Arin again, hoping that maybe she could get her attention.

Arin winced, "youch!" she said loudly as she jumped slightly rubbing ehr shoulder. "What was that?!"

Nate would frown. Something was going on. Looking around for shadows, he would find none. L'eau was in the buildings shadow. "I don't know m'love, let me look."

She frowned then sook her head, "Nah it's ok..c'mon let's go..I don't know how long I can be away from the palace and I'm sure Jake would rat on me in a second if he coulde.." she chuckled. "such an annoying man sucks I must put up with him."

For one who was drunk, she was sure conscious of her words. Nate hadn't asked anything for awhile. L'eau would tap Arin on the shoulder this time.

Arin turned around but frowned seeing no one was there, "odd.." she muttered then turned bac t Nate. "Did I tell you I'm not really my fathers daughter?" she asked

Nate would frown once more. "No you didn't. What about Jake?"

She shook her head, "he aint either..toug father doesn't know that I know it...But Jake was suposidly made my brother to watch over me.." she lauged, "Te idiots...didn't think I wouldn't find out." she shook her head, "That's why I tld the demon leader..kyo that my father would't care if I was caught..sure He likes me because he was obsessed with my mother before he killed her but...Not enough to give the kingdom up for me..He can always find a new heir."

Nate would act surprised "You were captured by the demon leader?"

She nodded, "yeah of curse..that's why I needed help from that one women." she rubbed her head. "Did't I tell you al this alread?" she felt that it was impossible to remember, but she just shrugged, "Anyways.."

L'eau would still be following the two. She would start to send out a thought *Arin, restroom N..* then Nate would get Arin on the subject of 'the woman' again. "Who is this woman again?"

She sighed, "You just wont give up eh?" she shook her head "Well...Her names..." she trailed off trying to remember but then she blushed rubbing the back of her head, "I can't remember But... THINK that it started with a L...."

*drat! too much drink* L'eau would sigh, then try to send out another thought. *Arin, we must talk... get away from him...* "Are you sure you can't remember her name?" *DONT GIVE HIM NAME!*

Arin frowned at the voice in her head more then from not remembering the name but she shut out the voice and then nodded, "COurse I can't remember her name..all I know is that I started with an L and she now works for my father and she's a sorceress...wy do you keep asking anyays?!"

"I'm just curious." The cogs were turning in his head, starts with an L and is a sorceress... there were several it could be. Trying to break through to Arin she would send out another thought and find it blocked. Damn it. L'eau would grab Arin's hand and tug on it for a second, then let go.

Arin turned and looked around frowning wondering if she was just imagining things whatever it was was getting very annoying. She looked back at Nate. "i guess so..I mean who wouldn't be eh?" she asked looking up at him.

L'eau would move around in front of Arin and push her backwards a little, just enough so that it would look like Arin stumbled to Nate. Nate would grab Arin so she wouldn't fall. "Are you ok?"

Arin nodded, "Yeah I'm ok..but it felt like something pushed me.." she frowned. Then smiled lookingup at Nate. "I think I should go now..but before I do.." she stood on her tip toes and kissed him then pulled back. "Good bye nate..I'll try and send a message of when we can next meet alrigt?" then turning she started unseadily for the palace.

L'eau would sigh once more, thinking that her message had finally gotten through to Arin. Nate would frown again. *something pushed her eh, sounds like someone is trying to keep her from telling me information* Turning he would spin around, his arms extended out from his sides. He would look crazy to Arin. L'eau would jump back from him, his arms just missing slapping her face. He would take a few steps in L'eaus direction and turn again, coming in contact with her this time. L'eau's invisibility flickered, but it wasn't enough to identify her with.

She sighed and walked towards home a happy noncaring look on her face as she tripped on stumbled unwards

L'eau would jump backwards, then turn and run after Arin, stepping in a few puddles, but elsewise undetectable.

Arin got about half way home then passed out to drunk t g any farther

Out of breath, L'eau would stop as Arin began to collapse in front of her, then dart forward and catch her, turning Arin invisible also. Following the light footprints spaced far apart, Nate would keep an eye on Arin. He had stupidly let her go. He knew that there had definately been someone there with them when Arin suddenly disappeared as she collapsed.

Jake sighned, "foolish girl." he muttered as she climbed out of the window. now he had to go find her surely she'd be off somewhere or other..and who was this boyfriend of hers? She always talked about him btu never in spicifics.. khe looked around trying to fdind her

Nate would step forward, looking for Arin. He never had gotten trained to see those in the invisible, but he never would have been able to anyhow. Using her demonstrength, L'eau would lift Arin and move toward the palace, still invisible.

Jake sighed and then noticed L'eau...carrying...Arin?" he ran over to her having no clue she was invisble. "hey! what are you doing with my sister?" he asked annoyed "what happened to her?"

*Nate... be quiet, he's on my trail!* Nodding towards Nate she would frown. *He got her drunk.* Nate would look toward the voice. Jake seemed to be talking to the air. That must be where they were. He moved toward the three.

Jake hesitated then walked past her pretending that nothing had happened. He frowned, "Hmm." he said loudly. "I don;t think those lines work...Maybe I should go with. 'Hey you leave her alone!' nope to dumb." he shook his head. "Hmm choices choices" he countinued walking

L'eau would chuckle to herself at Jake's thoughtfulness. *good one, keep it up and maybe I can get her to the palace without being caught by him, unless you have a better way?* stepping forwards a few steps she would not wait for his response. Nate would frown. What had gotten into him, he should never have let her go as he did, especially with the treacherous demon around.

He sighed, "Hmm...I guess I'll go with the first but then what?" he shook his head and sighed, "Oh dang being a writter can be so hard." he noticed Nate and then walked over to him, "hello." he said grinning, "maybe.emm..sire would you be willing to help? I'm writting a book and I need to know which line sounds better?"hey! what are you doing with my sister?" Or 'Hey you leave her alone!' I really can’t make up my mind between the tw got any tips?"

"Hmm... Ja... erm... I think the first one will work." What had gotten into Jake?

He nodded, "thanks!" he said grinning hopeing that he'd stalled long enough o give L'eau a chance to get arin home, "Hey by the way..I've been looking for arin? D you happen to know where she went the last time I saw her she said she was going on a date with you.."

"Well, I was looking for her too, she seemed to have just dissapeared. Don't know why I even let her go as I did. I've got orders to watch out for her." *Crap!* Had he just given himself away?

His eyes widened then his look went harsh, :What are you talking about?" he asked coldly, "What does my little sister have to do with your plans." he gripped Nate by the collar of his shirt. "Who are you?"

"Woa there. Let go. Geez, you sure have demonlike strength. I was just told to watch out for her, thats all. With her running about as she does...."

"Who?" he said coldly, "Who asked you to watch out for her?"

Scanning his memory for Jakes 'father's' name, he didn't find it right off the bat, but he replied. "Your so called father."

He was so surprised, "S-s called?" he asked shock filling his face. "Wh-what are you talking aout?"

Awww, poor Jakey didn't know? "He sure doesn't act like a father to you..."

He looked at him coldly, "i don't know what you're talking about..He's my father..of course he is! Why wouldn't he be?" his voice was starting to sound frantic now.

Nate was a bit surprised that Jake hadn't caught him in his lie, but he must have been too occupied with the thought that maybe Ka'ven wasnt his father. "Yes, of course he is, now shouldn't you be looking for your sister, as I should be doing?"

He nodded, "yeah I guess I should be..." he frowned then shaking his head urned and walked off. *How? How could Nate know that Ka'ven wasn't his true father..and if he knew then who else knew?*

*Where are you Jake?* By now L'eau was close to the Palace, and would need a way of getting in, the guards probably would not let her in, they would probably interrogate her first, especially with her carrying an unconscious Arin. Nate would turn and look for Arin once more. He suspected that whoever had taken her was going to the palace, but there was always the chance that they went elsewhere.

Jake doubled back and spotted L'eau. "hey follow me.." he said, "we'll climb through the window,"

"And what will we do with Arin, if I may ask?"

"put her in bed of course..."

"Will Ka'ven be checking in on her anytime soon?" Climbing up through the window was a little difficult with one arm occupied, but she managed to do it as she said this.

"Him? NO he hardly ever talks to us."

"Well, I wouldn't know that now would I? Its been... sheesh... I don't even know how many years since I actually lived in the palace. More than 100 I think."

he laughed slightly, "yeah yeah...anyways we should let the little pest sleep..c'mon."

"Alright then." She would follow Jake out of the room and close the door as quietly as she could behind her.

"So what were you doing going after Arin?" Jake asked looking at her anoyed.

"I wasn't really after her, I just happened upon her at that bar after I finished up with the captain."

"I see...and you enteruptted..why?"

"She should not be talking to Nate... not at all."

“why?”

"He is getting information from her, In fact, they both know of Ka'ven not being you guys father. Each night that she goes with him, he tries to pry more information from her."

He nodded, "This...this is very bad..If we try and tell her she'll jsut disobey and go with him more."

"Yes, he is a demon in disguise, now Kyo will find out that his plan would never have worked in the first place because of the heir situation.

He leaned against the wall and cursed.

I heard a bit of your conversation, why did you believe him? "

"believe him for which thing?"

"The part about working for your 'father'"

He shrugged, " don't know..I guess because it hasn't been the first time fathers pulled stuff like this."

"At least all is not lost, my treachery towards the demons hasn't been revealed."

He nodded, "yes that's good at least.."

"Although he does know that my name starts with an L... ah, thats right I forgot to ask about going back and fourth to keep my treachery hidden from them."

"it'd probaby be good if you did so it's handy to have a spy."

"Yes, it is, especially when I am one who is usually with Kyo... ugh"

"what's wrong?"

"I never liked being kept near Kyo all the time."

He raised an eyebrow, "I wonder..Is there a certain reason he keeps you so close?"

"I do not know, I have never figured that out."

"hmmmm you should try and figure it out..maybe you should get back there before he becomes suspicous?"

"Ka'ven hasnt authorized me to go back and fourth as a spy."

"Go..I'll tell hiim what happened...besides you don;t go now it may be to late."

Also, It is in the middle of the night, the only time I get to be away from his tent, and in that shabby one that they gave me. As long as I'm back before daybreak, and my watch shift isn't up, I will be fine.

He nodded, "Alright then...good...Just be carefull you don't want to be caught."

"Other than that, I can make the excuse that I was off spying on you guys and I can give him false information."

He nodded, "But don't you think he'll see through that lie?"

"Kyo is rather stupid. Don't know how he managed to become leader. I should probably tell Ka'ven my plans."

He nodded, "yes that would be best...Now run along..He should be in the courtyard right now."

"Dont treat me like I'm some child Jake... I am many times your age. I'm off now."

He smirked, "Good luck."

Approaching the doors to the courtyard, she would hesitate before opening them to enter.

Ka'ven was sitting there alone thinking.

Jake smirked and leaned in the doorway and his and Arin's room. He watched her lookking down at her unconcious forms. "fools." he whispered, "All of them..."

L'eau would approach and softly say "Ka'ven”

Ka'ven turned around glancing at hr. "Oh hello...What is it?"
